((The scene we be copying can be found here. Any instance of "plant" can be replaced with "cat", and "inanimate object" can be replaced with "animal".)) She stood in the corner of the lab, white coat shining in the light of the monitors. The queen was young, and not yet the queen. This was Precious. The predator's stomach let out a rumble, and she drooped a bit, a low whine emitting from her maw.

William was scribbling in his Experiment log. He moved from there to looking at some monitors. He was a bit younger, and his experiments had been sub-par to say the least. Until...
He looked over at Precious, sitting in the corner. His latest genetic experiment. He needed a companion, and she was perfect. He heard her stomach growl as she let out a whine. Well, she had to eat, and he'd been feeding her dogs, and other random animals he could find. He'd do anything for Precious, his only companion.
He got up and walked over to her, patting her head. "Suppertime, huh, Precious? What'll you have tonight? Dog, squirrel, raccoon, maybe?"

Precious shook her head, ocean blue eyes glinting. She hadn't talked to him before, but she needed to now. The Hive lay down, looking up at him with hungry eyes. She let out another whine.
"Feed me," she murmured, licking her nose. Her voice croaked a bit, being unused for so long. Her eyes were locked on him.

William jumped, startled that Precious had talked. But, he smiled, a glint in his eye. "You talk! I...my baby talks! Yes, Precious, I'll feed you," he said.
Then, he frowned, "But what? I mean...I can't go stealing more pets from people or pet stores right now. The city'll get suspicious. And...wildlife is pretty rare. Maybe if I could snag a cat from a dumpster or something...or buy you a steak?"

Precious shook her head quickly when he mentioned the steak and the cat. Not enough; not any more. She needed something else. Something bigger, something that could be found in droves in this city.
"Must be blood," she said, growling. "Must be fresh."

"Blood...Fresh.....That I have no problem with," he said. "But, where to get it? The little animals aren't enough anymore..." He really did want to help her. He didn't want to leave her hungry. But he was completely lost here.
He sighed. "What am I supposed to do, go on a killing spree?"

"Feed me!" Precious sang, as a beat began to play in the background. She stood, claws flexing as her muscles rippled under her coat. Her mouth remained open, scenting the air.

William just gawked. "Feed me!" He couldn't believe this. The odd thing was, he liked it. After all, she was his only friend. His only companion.
"Does it have to be human?" He paused, and swallowed. "Does...it have to be mine?"

"Does it have to be human?" "Feed me!" "Does...it have to be mine?"
Her voice became more desperate, more urgent. She put a higher pitch to it. "Feeeed me!" After pausing a moment, she continued.
"Feed me, William. Feed me all night long." Precious let out a laugh. "That's right, boy! You can do it! Feed me, William. Feed me all night long. 'Cause if you feed me, William, I can grow up BIG and STRONG!" The creature chuckled sadisticlly.

William frowned a little, giving a Precious a confused look. "You eat blood, Precious. What am I supposed to do, kill people?" He stepped forward, looking at the beautiful yet bloodthirsty blue and white creature he had created.

Precious grinned, knowing he was going to ask that. She lowered her head a bit, staring at him with a puppydog-like face. "I'll make it worth your while," she said, her voice pleading.

"I'll make it worth your while," He blinked. Worth my while??? What was she talking about. William stepped forward again. "What?"

Precious laughed. William didn't quite get it. "You think this is all coincidence, love?" she asked, a wide smirk taking the place of her grin. "Your sudden happiness? Your success?" She walked forward a bit, muscles rippling under her coat.

"You think this is all coincidence, love? Your sudden happiness? Your success?" He shook shook his head, stepping backward. "Look, you're a cat. An animal. A genetic experiment.

Precious let you a roar, pushing him down with her paw. "Does this look like an experiment to you, punk?!" she yelled. She stood over him, growling "If I can talk, and I can move, who's to say I can't do anything I want?!"
