Hannah was in the library again. It seemed she frequented there much more often, recently, and in her off time she could almost always be found here. What was she doing? Research. Research on genetic experiments, on anatomy, on psychology. Trying to figure out everything she possibly could on these... these creature things terrorizing the city. The same ones that had attacked the BPRD building a couple days ago. Since the damage that had been done was expensive to fix, everyone's pay had been docked.
And so far, she hadn't found anything other then what she already knew.
The woman let out a long sigh, putting back the book on Sabretooth Cats she had been flipping through. If anyone was working the hardest on this case, it was her, and she still hadn't learned anything new. She needed a break, to read something for fun, but... she couldn't take a break. Not now.

Abe Sapien was in a definite quandary of an irritating sort...
From within the aquatic luxury of his tank, the bluish man comfortingly excelled at reading his precious books. Alas, due to the assault that was perpetrated against BPRD HQ by the Hive, personnel was shorthanded.
In other words, no one could assist him in turning the book's pages on the pedestal that was positioned outside of his tank.
"Profoundly unfortunate, indeed..." He mentally huffed in displeasure.
It was then that Abe noticed someone in the library. She was a ward of the organization he adhered to. While the young woman had never personally interacted with the icthyo sapien before, the aforementioned being decided now was an excellent opportunity to do so.
Besides, the current chapter was getting exciting. He needed to see the next page!
Immediately accessing the communication device in the tank, he politely asked for help from the female ward.
"Excuse me for a moment, young lady, but might you come here?"

"Excuse me for a moment, young lady, but might you come here?"
It kind of caught Hannah off-guard when he talked to her. She looked over he shoulder to lay her eyes on him. She knew who he was, of course. He was one of the primary agents here. Everyone knew who he was. The woman had also worked close with Hellboy on the subway vampire case, and on several other cases, so she had a general idea of how he acted (though, Red was a bit of a joker and might have exaggerated a bit). She even had been in the library at the same time as Abe before. But the water-manipulator had never really bothered to have a proper conversation with the fish-man. Weird, when you thought about it.
She walked over to the tank, giving him a small smile. "My name is Hannah, Mr. Sapien," she said, quietly, like she normally did when she didn't really know someone. "What is it you want?" Hannah placed her hands behind her back, grasping one with the other.

"Please, do call me Abe," The icthyo sapien requested, smiling warmly. "And it is superb to meet you, Hannah."
When the kindly introduction was complete, the aquatic humanoid pointed to the book-pedestal and explained his situation.
"Since the BPRD possesses very little members at this time, may you turn that book's pages for me? I'm dwelling within my main environment as you can deduce, so it's very difficult to read a book without a helping hand."

Hannah nodded and smiled back. Abe it was.
"Since the BPRD possesses very little members at this time, may you turn that book's pages for me? I'm dwelling within my main environment as you can deduce, so it's very difficult to read a book without a helping hand."
The woman looked a bit shocked out herself for a moment. "Oh, I'm so sorry," she said. "If I'd have known, I would have done it sooner. I've just been sorta busy. Here..." She reached down to the book and flipped the page over for him. Her grin returned. "If you need me to do it again, just ask."
Hannah sat down in the chair closest to the tank and the pedestal, trying to relax. Someone had left a cup of water on the table next to the chair. Absent-mindedly, almost instinctively, she manipulated the liquid out of the cup, making it float above her hands. She began to shape it with her mind, into the forms of different animals. Dog, fish, cat, goat... simple animals. It was calming, to say the least.

Abe was about to return to reading his vintage book when he observed Hannah's paranormal ability in action. Quite doubtlessly, the water-dwelling man didn't even have the slightest suspicion that she was a Gifted Human!
"That...is a wondrously beauteous gift you have...!" Abe uttered, delightedly astonished.
After a few seconds of scrutinizing the elemental manipulations, he turned to Hannah in a flurry of good-natured excitement.
"I must confess I've never seen such a unique strength before... Not to mention it's highly formidable when considering that water is essentially everywhere. Tell me, how did you come to have that ability? And how much do you wield it proficiently?"

"That...is a wondrously beauteous gift you have...!"
"Hm?" Hannah looked up, surprised. After a moment, she chuckled, and blushed a bit, lowering her gaze back to the water, which she made into a simple sphere. "Thanks..." she murmured. "No one's ever quite put it that way before."
"I must confess I've never seen such a unique strength before... Not to mention it's highly formidable when considering that water is essentially everywhere. Tell me, how did you come to have that ability? And how much do you wield it proficiently?"
She almost blushed again. No one had ever really complimented her gift like that. They'd just shown interest, said it was nice. In the case of the scientists when she had first come there, wanted to test it, see how far she could go with the power. But no one had really complimented it.
"I was... I was sorta born with it, I guess," the woman said, going for a more complicated shape with the water this time. A rose. "I didn't realize it until I was about seven... and then the water just started acting according to my mood. The lake near my orphanage got choppy whenever the other kids made fun of me. When I was twelve, after a couple sail boats wrecked on a perfectly sunny day, the BPRD stepped in. And they found me." Hannah shrugged. "And now I'm twenty-two, and I'm still here. I can make the water into whips and stuff... it's sorta handy when you're fighting a vampire and you got a vial of Holy Water on you. I can pull it out of the air, too, if the climate's not too dry."

Abe felt the enthralling need to compliment the adeptly skilled water-manipulator and so acted upon it.
"Indeed, you hold an astounding miracle, Hannah. Your gift can be utilized in numerous ways to benefit the entire world. For instance, to some degree, you could extinguish unnatural fires made by arsonists. Or perhaps you could make water materialize literally from thin air during a drought. Since water is essential for all life, I'd imagine you'd be a most perfect protector of it."
The blue one halted his conversation for only a second and then voiced a possibility.
"That is probably why the BPRD became interested enough to recruit you. If they could come to understand your power, the world may be enriched by it. As for combative skills, you have the potential to become one of our best agents. Undoubtedly, I wouldn't be surprised if the BPRD discovered some method to greatly enhance your ability."

Hannah chuckled as he went on about how her power could be used. A petal fell off of the water-rose, and she twisted her fingers and made the liquid into a spiral shape. An artist, like always.
"Yeah..." she said. She pulled some water out of the air with a flick of an index finger, just to show she could. She added it to her spiral. "I think you appreciate it a bit more then a normal human would, though, don't you?" The woman grinned, still keeping her eyes on her little shape.

"Naturally," Abe affirmed. "Especially since water is constantly essential to sustain my existence."
The icthyo sapien gazed in appreciative wonderment at Hannah's wielding of the world's most important element. After some silence of watching the paranormal display, he made an interesting query.
"What other kinds of complex shapes can you execute?"

"Naturally. Especially since water is constantly essential to sustain my existence."
Hannah nodded. That was sort of what she had been getting at. Still, Abe was nice to talk to. No one had ever taken such an interest in her power, and... well, she liked it. It made her feel special.
"What other kinds of complex shapes can you execute?"
She grinned wider and looked at finally, sitting up in her chair. "Well, what would you like me to try?" she said, up for a challenge. The woman reverted the water back into a sphere, like a blank slate. Something to help her start out. "C'mon. Anything, you name it."

Abe smiled happily and conveyed his most desired wish.
"I want you to generate a great ditrigonal icosidodecahedron that orbits around a ditrigonal dodecadodecahedron and a small ditrigonal icosidodecahedron."
Naively, Abe failed to realize that Hannah might not be able to do just as he wished, but such was the way of the kindly water-dweller.

"I want you to generate a great ditrigonal icosidodecahedron that orbits around a ditrigonal dodecadodecahedron and a small ditrigonal icosidodecahedron."
Hannah couldn't help it. She leaned forward, and she laughed. She laughed hard.
Of course, it was somewhat quiet laughter. But it was enough to make her loose her concentration and drop the sphere of water. But she could clean that up in a minute; it was no big deal, just suck it back out of the chair.
"I... I didn't understand... a word you just said!" the woman said, between giggles. She covered her mouth with her hand.

The young woman's delightful laughter filtered through his aquatic ears and had a tantalizing effect on the unique brain therein.
In other words, shortly after Hannah's laughter burst into existence, Abe ushered forth some of the good noises from himself as well.
It was a wonderful sensation, this feeling of utterly pristine bliss. One that Hannah had apparently caused. As a matter of fact, the icthyo sapien hadn't felt this grand exuberance since...
Since he met Princess Nuala.
At that profound revelation, Abe suddenly choked on his laughter.

Hannah stopped laughing when he suddenly did. Quickly, she manipulated the water she had spilled back to the cup, then stood and walked up to his tank. She frowned and her brows furrowed in a worried expression.
"You alright, Abe?" the woman asked, her head tilting somewhat to the side. Her dark, wavy brown hair bounced with the slight movement. Hannah's silver-grey eyes scanned him up and down. Had he hurt himself? Had she said something wrong? She really hoped she hadn't said something wrong...
