Name:
John T Myers
Code Name/Alias:
Frosty
Nickname(s):
Myers
Age:
27
Gender:
Male
Species:
Human
Affiliation:
BPRD (Antarctica Base Leader)
Personality:
"In medieval stories, there is often a young knight who is inexperienced, but pure of heart."
"Oh, come on. I am not pure of heart."
"Yes, you are."
Myers has been described as being "pure of heart," he still protests this description which probably means it's still true. He has a relatively easy going personality considering his situations, and doesn't hold grudges for very long. Along with this he adapts well to new situations, adjusting to the the reality of the supernatural world within a few day, and with minimal moments of WTF-ing. Really, how many normal people could get hired into the BRPD and accept Hellboy as a person who might need backup within a couple of hours? John is skilled at analyzing other people and figuring out what he needs to say to them, such as when he talked Liz Sherman to rejoining the BPRD. Finally Myers is developing his skills as a leader.
Skills:
Firearms, Psychology, Inventory,Babysitting grownups, People Management
Powers:
Does pissing off Hellboy without trying count?
Weaknesses:
As a normal human John had a hard time not getting killed by the various monsters he faces on the job.
Family:
Parents - John and Olivia Myers (dead)
Uncle/Legal Guardian - Uncle Ben Harrison (Maternal Uncle)
Character Likes:
Cold Weather, Coffee, Helping People
Character Dislikes:
Santa, Abominable Snowman, Agents who claim to see either
Appearance or Pictures:
Background:
John lived a happy, normal life until the deaths of his parents in a tragic car accident. Sent to live with his maternal uncle, he grew up with only a few close friends and no real mother figure. At school the boy was one of the brightest students, but never part of the "in" crowd. John participated in track during both middle and high school. He graduated Valedictorian of his class, and actually managed to keep the attention of nearly half of his classmates during his commencement speech.
In college Myers earned duel degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice. His studies left little time for extracurricular activities however, and he once again had only a small circle of close friends. Graduating near the top of his class, John's application to the FBI was easily accepted. He did well with his training, displaying both his intellectual and athletic abilities. The newly minted Federal Agent was quickly recruited to the BPRD and assign to act as Hellboy's lesion. His introductory missions were rough to say the least, but John managed to survive his first days at the office. Personality clashes with Hellboy and the BPRD going public lead to Myers' reassignment to Antarctica. The Antarctica Base, Affectionately nicknamed Hoth by the staff, is a top secret storage facility for rare and dangerous artifacts. As an experienced field agent John was but in charge of a facility staff with a small group of rookies, oddballs, and near-retirees. All members are un-powered humans.
Roleplay Sample:
Character: Guardian Elric Van Lance from Algemin Daim
The Guardian, as implied by his title, was responsible for guarding things. A gate in his case, though he knew of other guardians who guarded other things, like children or buildings or gardens. Maybe not gardens, gardeners took care of gardens, but Elric was relatively certain that guardians and gardeners were similar. Related occupations...like cousins almost.
Anyway, as guardian, the Guardian rarely left his post at the gate. Maybe once every few centuries, twice if he lost count or ran out of buttons. Elric did hate it when he ran out of buttons. They were necessary for some many important things. Pants mainly, but they had other uses as well. This journey topside had been of one of his non-button related trips, so the immortal could enjoy himself without worrying about such an important subject.
It had been such a grand visit too. The day was bright, the birds were singing, and the shiny things were extraordinarily shiny. Also there were no peanut vendors. Nice of them to stay in today, they would have ruined the atmosphere with there vile products. Nasty things peanuts.
There was only one thing wrong, Elric had somehow managed to get completely turned around. Some idiot had gone and removed all of the Guardian's usual direction markers. Inconsiderate really, whoever it was was undoubtedly in league with the peanut vendors. He was left with no choice, if Elric wanted to return to his duties anytime soon he would have to ask for directions. Surely someone whould know where the gate was located.
Wandering around a little longer, Elric found a boy digging through the trash. The young man had been smart enough to find an old sash hidden amongst the other items so surely he would be clever enough to find a gate hidden in the city!
"Excuse me boy! Do you know where my gate is? I seem to have lost it."
Why do you want to play this character?: I like the idea of playing the average guy who is just in way over his head. John's an everyman, and I can relate to him more than I could to someone with superpowers.
