There she sat, long, white-blonde hair fluttering in the slight breeze the cars made as they flew past. She was plucking the petals of a rose, murmuring to herself. Her pale pink dress, intricately designed with strings and ruffles and fancy clippings blew around her bare feet, and she smiled as she walked down the pathway. Tonight, Evelyn felt... beautiful. Like she mattered.
She twirled on one foot, giggling. The elf woman's pink eyes looked around, to the bums and homeless that frequented the park at night. They were all staring at her in awe. "Lovely night, isn't it?" she said in her bubbly voice. "It always is." And then, she walked onwards, to see if she could find anyone that would interest her.

Arty walked through Central Park. Alone. He hadn't seen Chase in days, which was weird. Sure, Arty saw Chase as a pain sometimes, but they'd been friends for centuries. And now, Chase was gone. Mysteriously vanished.
Arty went around looking for him, but to no avail. He just kept walking, in werewolf form, still hoping he'd find his weredingo friend. An old lady with a tall, white, "beehive" hairdo walked by. Arty pulled out a match, lit it, and tossed it into the lady's hair. He cracked a twisted smile as the lady took off running, flames engulfing her hair. Even now, fire still amused him.

Evelyn saw a werewolf throw a match into a woman's hair. She put a hand over her mouth and giggled, walking up behind him. "That wasn't very nice, you know," she said, a small smile playing on her face as she looked over him. She wasn't used to seeing werewolves, but being an elf, she was well-versed in what they looked like and how they acted.

He turned to look at the elf. "No. It wasn't very nice," he said, turning human, so no one would pin the fire on him. He brushed his hair out of his face and flashed a grin.
"No...maybe it wasn't very nice. But ya gotta admit, it was funny as hell...."

Evelyn grinned at him. "Yes, it was," she said, giggling again. The woman held out a hand to shake. "My name is Evelyn Sophronia. What's yours?" Her pink eyes sparkled with mischief, and her dress ruffled in the wind.

Artemis shook his hand, his grey eyes meeting hers. He let go, sticking his hands in the pockets of his jeans. "Artemis. Pleased to meet you."
At that moment, a dog ran by. German Shepherd mixed with Golden retriever, that reminded Arty of Chase. His eyes briefly showed hurt and pain. Where are you, old buddy?

"Artemis is a nice name," Evelyn said, smiling. She watched the dog walk by, then looked back to Artemis. He looked... hurt. As if he was thinking of something painful. "Are you alright?" The elf tilted her head to the side, hair waving with the movement.

Arty looked back at her, forcing a smile. "Yeah...I'm fine," he said. "I just...lost...a friend a while back. A dog, if you will. Just up and vanished one day, without a trace."
He paused. "I'll get over it, I guess."

Evelyn frowned. "I'm sorry," she said. She drooped a bit, then brightened. "Hey, maybe I could help!" The elf grinned, mind touching on her shapeshifting powers. Maybe she could become a dog, track the other dog down. It couldn't hurt.

Arty looked at her. "You'd do that? Though, he's more of a weredingo than a dog. And, he's been missing a few days now...."
He sighed. "But, not even I could get his scent. I don't know what's going on..."

"Well, have you seen those weird creatures that have been running around lately?" In the blink of an eye, Evelyn had shifted to the form of a tan Hive with deep green markings. Her eyes remained a sparkling pink, instead of turning to the Hive's normal red. "These things have an amazing sense of smell. Oh... I forgot to say I'm a shapeshifter, didn't I?" She chuckled. "Sorry."

Artemis watched as she transformed. "I haven't seen any, but I've smelled them." He looked at her. "You think that can help find him?"
He looked at her. She'd just met him, yet she was trying to help him find his best friend.

Evelyn grinned up at him. "I know it will." She gave him a wink, then flexed her long, hyena-like body. She could feel the power rippling in the muscles of this creature; whatever this thing was, it certainly was a piece of work. "Do you have anything he owned; something with his scent on it?"

Artemis smiled as she winked. "Hmm...I don't have anything..." he said. "Chase didn't own much...WAIT!" He dug into his pocket, pulling out an old squirrel corpse. "He was eating this the last time I saw him. It's all I have...sorry."

Evelyn sniffed the corpse with the Hive's hippo-like nose, breathing in the scent. "Yeah, I can smell dingo on there..." She sniffed again, this time raising her muzzle to the sky to fade his smell in the air. "He's... he's this way. Follow me!" She loped off in the direction the smell was coming from, every now and then lowering her nose to the ground, trying to track him. He was nearby. She could taste it.
