Precious is power-hungry and impatient, but doesn't like to see those she's controlling get hurt. She has a streak of sadism in her, and she gets a pleasure at seeing people she doesn't know or doesn't care about in pain. She is almost as smart as William is, and finds an interest in watching him "work". She, like most animals, wears her emotions "on her sleeve". You can tell if she is happy, angry, sad, uncertain, etc. by the involuntary way her ears, lips, and eyes move. You can also tell by the sounds she makes; growls in anger, purrs in happiness. She is very sweet and loving to William and anyone else she dubs a friend, and will often talk of them as if they are hers, i.e. "my William". She sees the rest of her species as her servants, which, in fact, they are.
