The creature's nose was stuck to the ground as he walked, searching for the man he had bitten a few days ago. The man's scent was getting stronger and stronger; he had been here recently. Or perhaps he lived here. 24020 didn't care. As long as his pack was closing in on the fast man, the master would be pleased. 24020 looked over his shoulder to William, ID tag swaying with the movement. "Fast man near here." The Hive flexed his claws and blinked, then turned to point his muzzle in the direction of the building, which was surrounded by a fence. The BPRD building. "In big house."

William followed 24020, cane in hand. Yes, William leaving the lab was a rare occasion, but then again, the fact that two vampires and a gifted human gave his creations such trouble was a big rarity. Besides, he wasn't alone. He not only had 24020 and his pack along, but also another pack, which made about 20 Hive total. "Good job," he said to 24020. "Hmm....nice. What do you say we go give...'Fast man' and whatever friends he may have a little fun, shall we?" He smiled a crooked, insane grin.

24020 grinned back, happy. His tail wagged a bit. "Yes!" He sniffed the air again, then trotted up to the gate. It was one of those where a man had to open it for you, from a computer, but the man was on a coffee break. 24020 dug under the gate then slipped through, barking a command at his pack and the other pack to follow.

William sighed as they dug under the gate. Two things happened. One, they triggered the alarm system. Two, they tripped the wire that controlled the gate, opening it. William strolled on in, following his Hive.
"Well, they know we're here. Go have fun. Play!" He let out a laugh. Even if they DID know, there was no way they'd stop twenty genetically engineered killing machines. No way in hell...

Screeeee! came the joyous call from the two packs as they were let loose. 24020 and two others broke into the building through a window, glass barely leaving a mark on their hides. The stood there a moment, then separated, running to wherever they smelled something living. The rest of the two packs broke into the building in other ways, spreading out.
The woman let out a loud snore before she was awoken by something that sounded like... bird calls? Her eyes drifted to the digital clock on the bed stand. 3 am. Nono... too early. Way too early. She was going to go back to sleep, but then she heard crashing noises and breaking glass running through the complex. Immediately, Hannah bolted upright and ran to her chest of drawers, pulling on a tshirt, some jeans, and some combat boots. She grabbed an oversized revolver and a couple of her other favorite weapons, including a belt stocked with vials of water. She opened the door of her room and poked her head into the hall. "What the... WHAT THE HELL ARE THESE--" Her sentence broke into a scream as she was lept upon by on of the creatures.

William stood on the lawn of the building, watching his magnificent creatures work. He smiled to himself, holding his cane.
Ty rolled out of bed, having been awoken from a horrible nightmare. It was about the Hives, as it had been since about a week ago. Then, he heard it. That call, followed by Hannah.
"What the... WHAT THE HELL ARE THESE--" "Oh God...Please God...No..." Ty said, leaping to his feet. He grabbed a crowbar from his closet, which was full of assorted weapons, and slung his belt containing his daggers and other gear over his shoulder and ran to the scene, in nothing but a tee shirt and his boxer shorts.
He swung the crowbar at the Hive that were leaping on Hannah. "LEAVE. HER. ALONE." His voice was cold and stern, showing no fear, even though down inside, there was fear.

The Hive yelped as she was hit by the crowbar, and she rolled off of Hannah. She turned and growled at Ty, raising a hand-like paw and flexing the killer claws on it, ready to strike.
Before the Hive could, Hannah was up, revolver poised and ready. She shot the creature in the head, instantly killing it. Hannah was shaking like a leaf now, ocean blue eyes widened in fear. "What are these things?" she whispered, afraid of alerting any more to her presence.

Screams, yelling, some weird screeching noise... whatever choas had broken out in the BPRD, it pulled Sarah awake with a groan. At first she was annoyed, but, as the grogginess faded, she became aware that something really not good was happening. Quietly as she could, she pulled on some clothes and made her way to her bedroom door, opening it a crack and peering out. She spotted Ty and Hannah down the hall, both of them weilding weapons, and tip toed her way over to them after grabbing a gun of her own.
That's when she noticed the body of... god only knew what.
"What the hell is that?" she whispered, fear slowly creeping into her voice.

Ty sighed, looking from the dead Hive to Hannah, to Sarah. "I'm not entirely sure. But I'll tell you what I do know. They're strong, and they travel in packs, so there's at least a few more around here somewhere." He gulped, hating to say this next part. "And...their speed and reflexes rival that of my own..."

Hannah frowned, shock filling her features. "What? You mean this thing wasn't alone?" Her brows furrowed. "And they're... they're faster then you?" That wasn't good. That wasn't good at all. She had sparred with Ty before and... well, you couldn't hit a target if you couldn't see it. The woman swallowed. "What should we do?"
24020 tested the air one final time, eyes closing as he concentrated. He had been bred for tracking; which is why he and his pack had been chosen for this. And there was the scent, imprinted into his head. The fast man. Giving a call to two of his packmates to follow, he trotted calmly in the direction of the man they were seeking.

Sarah swallowed hard as Ty explained the strange body at her feet. More of them, strong, faster than Ty...
"Oh we are so screwed," she muttered, staring down at it... which led her to notice the collar around it's neck. Frowning, she bent down and touched the metal lightly. A pretty technological collar... interesting. She turned the body over so she could get a better look at the collar, and briefly prayed the thing was actually dead.
"Well, I guess if we hadn't already guessed by the fact that they're a mixture of every animal known to man," Sarah said, prodding the collar. "We can rule out wild animals... hmm... the tag's a dead give away too," she added stupidly. Apparently she was still tired.

Ty nodded. "I hate to say it, but yeah. And they're definitely not." He took a deep breath. Though he hated to say it, since he was the only one there who knew anything about these...things.
He took another breath, hearing some more coming. "Okay," he said sharply. "We're not screwed. You're just gonna have to trust me here. I'm the only one who knows about these things, so follow my lead."
He held his crowbar ready. "Okay. These things aren't very smart, and rarely travel alone. They're here to kill. We need to alert everyone, but we shouldn't separate. Someone should have your back at all times. You get alone, and they've got you."
He paused. "Like that one that jumped on you, Sis? Imagine that with like 3 or more of them. Obviously, they're not immune to bullets." He dropped the crowbar, pulling a dagger and his handgun from the belt slung over his shoulder, dagger in his left hand, gun in his right.
"Alright. Let's send these things back to wherever the hell they come from...."

Hannah blinked, surprised she hadn't noticed the collar before. There was one large, red light on the top of it, and six smaller lights placed around the big light. Two of the smaller lights were green and were blinking slowly of and on, and the rest glowed a steady red. "We need to get this body to the lab first," she said to Ty finally, looking up from the corpse. "We'll need to study it later, after we get rid of the live ones, and we don't know what these things eat. They might be cannibalistic. So we have to secure the body." She could feel the shaking stop, but she was still scared and nervous. "And we can let Sarah have the collar to look at, to see what the lights on it are for."
Screeeee!
Hannah turned, eyes widening.
24020 stood there, eyes locked on Ty. His two companions stood on either side of him, necks lowered and legs spread in a defensive stance.
"Fast man," 24020 said, growling. "Master send us get you. Master want see you."

Sarah stood up and nodded as Ty took the lead on the whole situation. Which was probably a good thing because it was way too early in the morning for her to think for herself with all this panic.
Hannah was, of course, right though, they had to get the body somewhere safe so they could look at it later and hopefully figure out what the hell they were up against. She was about to agree with Hannah when that awful screeching sound came from behind them. She spun around, lifting her gun and pointing it at the creatures. Whatever they were the whole 'not immune to bullets' part was slightly comforting.
"Fast man, Master send us get you. Master want see you."
She glanced at Ty, him being the most likely 'fast man'.
"So, they talk too?" she asked.

"Yeah." Ty said before muttering, "I probably shoulda mentioned that..." and stepping toward 24020. He'd recognized 24020 as the Hive that had left him with those holes in his arm, which he kept hidden with his tee shirt sleeves.
Ty glared, standing there in nothing but his tee shirt and drawers with a dagger in one hand and his pistol, trained on 24020, in the other. "Who is your 'Master?' And what does he want me for? It better be important for him to send his flea-bitten scum into my home, terrorizing my friends. Go get your Master, then."
